Financial Situation of Local Government Units as a Determinant of the Standards of Living for the Polish Population

In this paper, the author intends to show interaction between living standards of population and financial situation Polish local government units at commune level. The first (theoretical) part paper provides a synthetic description topics related defining economic terms government’s ability impact population. view multifaceted nature covered by analysis, second uses canonical analysis (which means multiple linear regressions are generalized for two sets variables) in order identify relationships them. resulted identifying number indicators, including correlations, total redundancy variances extracted, as well six statistically significant variates, which enabled identification multidimensional categories considered. greatest most correlation coefficient was over 0.93; last variate, it 0.57. grounds concluding that when values variables representing capacity rural communes known, they can be used explain 32% variance set relating population’s living. statistical data originated from author’s own surveys carried out with presidents vice-presidents councils.
